i’ve seen multiple different throttle enhancement products online and have been seriously considering one. i stumbled upon this site through Google searching different products that claim about the same as any other manufacture. i watched a few videos and read some reviews – becoming more impressed. mostly because of the cost. i decided to go with the 5C device. i didn’t need multiple different sport or race modes to flip through or a display to tell me what’s going on – i can feel it! right off the bat from opening – impressive finish, superior quality feel, and most importantly; TINY!! i can fit this thing pretty much on any surface i wanted to mount to. i drive a Toyota GT86 – have tuned and modified a few things like intake and exhaust. after tuning i was happy for quite some time, but the tune is quite aggressive on the street and, while the tune “improved” the drive-by-wire system by increasing the responsiveness BUT – there is no way to dial in the pedal like i want. to whoever is reading, this device will NOT flash your ECU (car-puter), connect to OBD, or have to splice wiring or any wonky installation procedures like the dreaded “tune-chips” via eBay… the instructions were more than straight-forward with installation. unplug throttle controller cable from pedal, connect Windbooster module to pedal connector, then throttle controller to Windbooster module. this device installs ‘between’ the stock throttle cabling, intercepting the drive-by-wire signal, then, depending on which mode, your pedal information is sent to ECU and is then processed as a percentage. with my 5C; i can view my cars throttle through OBD interface (data-logging view), select a mode and setting, then press the throttle and “tune” my settings. for example, my Eco mode is set to 4 – this only allows for ~60% throttle usage while driving. **NOTE** throttle percentages are not made during wide-open throttle – if i floor my pedal with the Eco mode setting still on 4 – the car will accelerate like normally without any enhancement devices. personally; i have tested this device many, many driving hours and not ONCE have i been disappointed.
i was honestly looking at other devices before coming to this site. this review is not faked; i actually bought and currently use this device every time i’m behind the wheel. i live in Las Vegas, Nevada and have not once been let down by this device in either bumper-to-bumper traffic with my Eco mode (so i don’t kill my gas mileage!), and getting up to highway speeds from the acceleration ramps. just be careful with the sport, sport+, and race modes. my device only has one sport mode and has 10 settings… this is way more than i need and Sport mode 1 is usually all i need. sport and race modes will take your cars throttle response and MAX it out FASTER. my 5C’s sport mode 9 sends my ECU 100% full throttle depression at 25% actual pedal depression. it’s like just using full throttle or nothing!
don’t buy the other more expensive devices!! i was quite tired of having to floor my car almost every time i needed to get around someone or to just get up to speed – and i would say about 75% of my driving is with the Eco setting. FYI i went from 25mpg without the Windbooster and was able to achieve 32mpg after installation and some time behind the wheel!! a lot can be changed with how the pedal is being used!! 😉 THANK YOU WINDBOOSTER!!
